8. Be Patient
This may seem obvious, but it’s the most important thing to remember when you’re growing out your facial hair: be patient. Hair takes a long time to grow, and it takes an even longer time for facial hair to fill out. You aren’t going to have a Willie Nelson beard overnight, so plan accordingly. Start with small milestones like a good short scruff, then maybe graduate to a ½ inch all over goal. The point is, growing a beard is as much about the journey as it is about the destination, so have fun with it while you’re waiting it out – it will make the time pass a lot faster.
