3. The Set-Up
The two things you need to hard boil eggs are a pot and a spoon. Place your eggs in a single layer in the pot, and fill the pot with 500mL of cold water. Place the pot on high heat and bring the water to a rolling boil. If you want the water to reach a boil a little faster, put a lid on the pot or add a pinch of salt to the water. Getting the water to a rolling boil should take approximately 10 minutes, depending on the pot and the stove temperature.
