2. Fresh is Best When You Hard Boil Eggs
Before you hard boil eggs you need to make sure your eggs are fresh. The easiest way to tell is to check the date labeled on the shell. However, if you feel like embracing your inner Bill Nye the Science Guy, you can try a little experiment – all you need is some water. Place your egg in a glass (or bowl) of water. If the egg sinks to the bottom, it’s still fresh and good to be eaten. If the egg sits upright, it’s still good but should probably be eaten soon. However, If the egg floats to the top that means the egg is past its prime and should maybe be avoided.
