How To Tie a Tie

4. The Knots

There are several excellent necktie knots to choose from, which all range in complexity. Your knot options include: the small knot (known as the “simple knot” or “oriental knot”), the Half-Windsor knot, the Full Windsor knot (also just called a Windsor knot), the Shelby (a.k.a. Pratt knot), the Four-in-Hand, and the Atlantic. There are more knot variations available if you’re feeling adventurous, but we’re going to focus on the most common ones. After all, you have to learn to crawl before you can run.
