8. Be Organized

Something to keep in mind is that your resume isn’t for you to read.  You are trying to highlight your best qualities and show them off to someone.  If you had someone coming to your house, would you want it messy and cluttered? Would that represent you? Treat your resume the same way – be organized.  This means having very clear headings, in a clear font, like your personal summary, your professional title, your contact information, your work experience, your skills, and your education.  Don’t clutter the page with information and subsections – make it so that someone who’s reading it can easily do so.  Also, don’t be afraid to have white space around the margins and sections.
