How to Write a Resume

6. Industry Buzz Words

We live in a very tech-forward world now, and you might be surprised to know how many prospective employers use software to scan your online applications and resumes.  A lot of employers will deliberately look for resumes that use industry words, and/or words that were used in the job posting.  It might seem a tad arbitrary for them to do that, but given how many resumes they might have to look for, it’s an easy way to cull the stack. When you’re applying for a job, look at the posting and keep an eye out for any words related to what they’re looking for, or the required and preferred skills. Then, look for spots in your resume that you incorporate those words.
