How to Write a Resume

2. Summarize Yourself

Before you actually start to input your information, start by making some notes that summarize all of your life experiences to date.  This should include your work experience, if any, including career highlights and achievements.  Note down your educational experience, both in school and anything that might count towards professional development.  Volunteer experience is just as important, so don’t forget to include it in your personal summary.  The best part about the summary is that you can add as much detail you want, and then pick and choose what you include on your resume.
