4. Are You the One?

The most important part of the cover letter is to explain why you are the one for the position. The best way to do this is to reference key skills mentioned in your resume and explain why they fit the needs of the position. Use your cover letter to respond to the requirements in the job posting and explain how you acquired those skills. Finally, link yourself to the job with some soft skills or interpersonal skills. This is also a great opportunity to slip in those industry buzz words to show that you know the industry or field.
